Pre-Islamic Central Asia (before 800 AD)

This section includes coins of the various Kingdoms and regions in Central Asia before the coming of Islam. Various regions, like Khwarizm, Semirechye, Soghdiana, Northern Tokharistan, Ferghana, Chach and Bukhara, all made very unique coins based either on the Sassanian design (as in the case of Bukhara) or Chinese holed cash. These unique local coins are among the only remnants of history of the pre-Islamic Central Asia and are very popular with the collectors of Asian coins.
