Jou (denomination) within a circle, Fi balad Ghaznah sana Sab'a Khamseen ("from the city of Ghazna year seven fifty") / Qaan Munge al-Adil (Moengke Khan, the just). 16mm, 3.21 grams. Cf. Zeno 227152; A-1978E. SKU T886-52249

Very rare.

These were minted from 655 AH to about 660 AH, though they are mostly unpublished. Most of these coins are known from a single hoard discovered around 2016 or so, they remain very rare. Interestingly, the design of these coins was changed yearly, resulting in a number of related, but different, dated types. Moengke died in 657 AH “ we have no historical information what happened in Ghazna after he died, and no coins were minted after these jitals until Khutlugh Khwāja minted coins there in AH 697-698.
