The Naga Kings held a large territory in Malwa and other regions (expending their territory as far as Mathura in the middle of the third century AD by taking it from the weakening Kushans). They minted small copper coins in a number of denominations (kakini of about 2 grams, 1/2 kakini of about 1 gram and 1/4 kakini of about 0.5 gram), with Ganapati Naga minting coins in largest numbers. The last of the Nagas, Ganapati Naga, submitted to the Gupta Emperor Samudragupta.
