Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Leo facing right, DN LEO P-RPET AG / SALVS R-PVRLCA, Emperor standing right, holding standard and globe, treading down on a prostrate captive, CON in exergue. Excellent quality, brown patina. 20mm, 4.36 grams. Cherson mint. RIC 663.

A hard-to-find late Roman rarity.  Rated R3 in RIC.

These coins were probably minted in Constantinople for circulation in Cherson, in Roman Sarmatia. These large bronze coins are very rare.
