Chhatarpur State was a small princely state in the Bundelkhand region of central India, in present-day Madhya Pradesh. It was founded in the late 18th century by Bundela Rajput rulers and later came under British protection as part of the Bundelkhand Agency. Its capital was the town of Chhatarpur, and after Indian independence in 1947 the state acceded to India and was eventually merged into Madhya Pradesh in 1956.
