Farrukh-zad of Ghaznavid Empire was a mid-11th century ruler of the Ghaznavid Empire who reigned briefly from 1053 to 1059. A son of Masʽud I, he came to power during a period of severe political fragmentation and military pressure from the rising Seljuk Empire. His reign was marked by ongoing territorial losses, internal court instability, and difficulty maintaining central authority. He died in 1059, after which Ghaznavid power continued to decline under his successors.
