Five punch-mark symbols / Small bankers' marks. Irregular flat silver planchet, 28mmx16mm, 2.98 grams. Unlisted in Gupta/Hardaker ISPC series IVa #335 overstruck on series II #289; Mitchiner ACW 4019.

This type is given by Mitchiner (ACW #4019) to the period of the Ten Sons of Kalasoka (c.368-346 BC). It is a large and rare type (most early coins of the pre-Nanda series IV are rare). It is overstruck on a rare series II coin.

The Nanda Empire originated from the kingdom of Magadha in Ancient India during the 5th and 4th centuries BC.
