Tetricus I (r. 271–274 CE) was the last emperor of the Gallic Empire, ruling Gaul and Britain during the final years of the Crisis of the Third Century. He struggled against Germanic invasions and internal revolts before facing the Roman emperor Aurelian at the Battle of Châlons. Defeated and captured, Tetricus was spared by Aurelian and later appointed to a senior administrative post in Italy. His surrender marked the end of the Gallic Empire and the reunification of the western provinces under Roman rule.
