The Muzaffarids were a Persianate dynasty that rose to power during the 14th century, ruling from around 1314 to 1393. Founded by Sharaf al-Din Muzaffar, a former official under the Ilkhanate, the dynasty gained prominence under his son Mubariz al-Din Muhammad, who declared independence. The Muzaffarids ultimately fell to Timur (Tamerlane), who captured and executed the last ruler in 1393, incorporating their territory into his expanding empire.
