Flavius Victor was the young son of Magnus Maximus, elevated to the rank of co-emperor during his father’s usurpation in the late 4th century. He was recognized in the regions controlled by Maximus in Gaul and Britain, but had no real independent authority. After Maximus was defeated and executed by Theodosius I in 388 CE, Flavius Victor was also captured and put to death, ending the brief attempt to establish a dynastic succession for the usurper regime.
