Some filed Huo Quan coins are thought to be officially modified coins. On most of these, the outside was cut off (and the coin was not filed). This modification was done officially in order to devalue the original coin. The exact dating of these coins is uncertain; they were probably produced toward the end of Wang Mang™s reign or even later.
