The Laosian kingdom of Lan Xang Hom Kao (Kingdom of a Million Elephants) was established in 1354 by Fa Ngu. These "Tiger Tongue coins were issued in the Laos region of Southeast Asia from 1571-1592 AD. These silver bars were called "Tiger Tongues" because of their long, flat, tongue-like shape.
