Most Western Kshatrapa coin show inscriptions in Prakrit - a few very rare special issue coins are inscribed in Sanskrit, not Prakrit. Only a few coins of Rudrasena III showing a pure Sanskrit inscription on the reverse are known - these are extremely rare, with only a single piece published until now (in the Rajgor book - that coin did not show the date). The style is somewhat unusual, with a carefully engraved bust very different from the bust appearing on other coins struck in the same year as this coin (290 SE/368 AD).
