Faustina II (c. 130–175 AD) was a Roman empress and wife of the emperor Marcus Aurelius. She was the daughter of Emperor Antoninus Pius and Empress Faustina the Elder, and was married to Marcus Aurelius to strengthen dynastic continuity within the Nerva–Antonine dynasty. Faustina bore many children, including the future emperor Commodus, and accompanied Marcus Aurelius on military campaigns, earning both admiration and criticism from ancient sources. She was honored with divine status after her death and widely commemorated through temples, coins, and inscriptions across the Roman Empire.
