Bust facing three-quarters to the right, wearing a tight heardress in shape of a bearded face and large earrings, large dot in the right field / Sogdian legend (reading inward and retrograde) tdwn gwb c'chynk xwbw ("Tudun ruler of Chach") around an angular tamgha. 20mm, 1.87 grams. Shagalov/Kuznetzov 224.There are alternative readings of the reverse inscription, but the one shown above seems to be the most reasonable. Rare type with a very interesting hairdress - something tells me it was a real face (defeated enemy, perhaps?) made into this face-hairdress.....
