Ardochsho (Lakshmi) seated facing in lalitasana (with right leg folded under and left leg hanging down), holding diadem in right hand and long-stemmed lotus in left hand, legend at right in Sharada script: Partha, highly stylized King standing facing, sacrificing at altar at left, legend at right in Sharada script: Varma. 20mm, 5.91 grams. Mitchiner NIS #-; Kenneth West, Numismatics International Bulletin #13 (1978), page 73.

High quality example from an old collection. This extremely rare type is not listed in Mitchiner but appears in Kenneth West's article "Medieaval Coinage of Kashmir" in NI, 1978, and is illustrated on page 73. The coin pictured there resides in the British Museum collection, this is the second known example. He equated "Pangu" with King Nirjitavarman based on the stylistic grounds, but it maybe be a different short-lived King or usurper which followed the death of Parthavarman in 921 and preceded the accession of Nirjitavarman in the same year.
