A close imitation of the coin of Muzaffar Shah III with a dagger to bottom right, Urdu inscription: Ar-reman betaid al-muwid shams ad-duniya waud-din abu-Al-nasir ("son of the world and defender of the Religion by the help and strength of the merciful") // Trident, debased legend in Urdu As-sultan, Muzaffar Shah, frozen AH date (978), Rao's name in Devanagari below Rao Shree Desalji ("The Sultan Muzaffar Shah 978, King Desalji"). 14mm, 4.66 grams. Bhuj mint. KM 56.

Beautiful example in very high quality, scarce as such.

These coins derive their design (and the false frozen date) from the coins of Muzaffar Shah III of Gujarat Sultanate, before it was conquered by the Mughals.
