Five crude punch-mark symbols (see below - the sun-symbol shown only half a sun, the rest of the symbol is replaced by something else (it is unclear as to what it is, though) / A single punch-mark (dot surrounded by arrows and crescents). Irregular flat silver planchet, 17x12mm, 2.98 grams. Imitating Gupta/Hardaker ISPC VI IV F 145 (#574). The coin is an ancient imitation of a Mauryan silver coin - these are EXCEEDINGLY rare and had to find. The Mauryan Empire was India's first great unified empire. It lasted from 321 to 185 BCE, and was ruled by the Mauryan dynasty. At its height it ruled virtually all of northern and central India and parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
