The officially cast (Zhiqian) Wu Zhus from this period are recognizable by the crude characteristic casting and large characters. Many of these coins are found in the graves dated to the early reign of Emperor Zhang Di (AD 75-88), but their casting probably started earlier, during the reign of Guangwu or Emperor Ming and last long past the reign of Zhang Di. The span of their casting is not known, but they circulated until the middle of the 2nd century AD and perhaps even later.

This coin is unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic.
