Macedonian shield with thunderbolt in the centre, surrounded by five crescents, five dots between each of them / B-A to left and right of Macedonian helmet, coiled serpent below. 15mm, 4.16 grams. Pella mint. Price 409; Liampi 54.
Some Macedonian bronzes, probably minted soon after the death of Alexander the Great, do not show the name or the monogram of the ruler. The B-A might be a posthumous reference to Alexander or perhaps to Antigonus Gonatas, who might have minted these coins.
