Rare AE tassuj of Timur Lang (Tamerlane) (1370-1405), Samarqand, Timurid Empire

Anonymous issue. Denomination ("tassuj") within a decorated scalloped border // Three circles, zarb Samarqand around, date (795 AH) spelled out in the outer margin. Dated to 795 AH (1392 CE). 19mm, 2.00 grams. Samarqand mint. cf. Zeno 265090.

Rare denomination, seems to have been only recently identified, seems to be known mostly from a single recent hoard. The date always seems to be 795 AH - it must have been a very short-lived issue, though it can also be read as "775".
