AVRELIVS CAE - SAR AVG P II F, young bust right // TR POT XII, Providentia standing left, holding sceptre and wand over globe. 19mm, 3.82 grams. Dated to 156/157 CE, but probably struck somewhat later. A unique coin, most probably an ancient counterfeiter's pattern strike or an extra heavy denarius. Attractive patina. Very rare and interesting, as lead counterfeits are not commonly encountered.
