The Georgian struck a fascinating series of broad fals in Tiflis. They were dated to a month and year, and many were countermarked in 654 AH with two countermarks (one on each side) in old Mongolian script, which are yet to be deciphered. Interestingly, a short period later the mysterious countermark was actually incorporated into the dies for these coins, so the countermark became a part of the design and was not applied separately.
