Rising from humble origins, Aurelian reunited a divided empire by defeating both the Gallic Empire in the West and the Palmyrene Empire in the East, earning him the title \"Restorer of the World\" (Restitutor Orbis). He strengthened Rome’s defenses by beginning the construction of the Aurelian Walls, reformed the currency to combat inflation, and promoted the cult of Sol Invictus to unify the empire religiously. Though a capable and energetic ruler, Aurelian was assassinated by his own officers during a military campaign in Thrace. His short reign left a lasting legacy in stabilizing and preserving the Roman Empire during one of its most turbulent periods.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"NumisMall.com","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51016765210939,"sku":"x3941-77346","price":21.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0447\/1750\/6710\/files\/w77346_b66844a6-15db-4ddf-95a5-06e64f5a92fd.jpg?v=1772595492","url":"https:\/\/www.numismall.com\/products\/antoninianus-of-aurelian-270-275-ce-cyzicus-roman-empire-fides-militvm-type","provider":"NumisMall","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
