EXTREMELY rare barbarous antoninianus of Tacitus (275-276 AD), issued ca.275-280 AD

...CITVS AVG, bearded, radiate and draped bust right / Uncertain deity standing, holding a short rod, a few corrupt letters arround. 18 mm, 2.8 grams, nicer than the scan. Found in Northern France. EXTREMELY rare.

Barbarous imitations of Tacitus are EXTREMELY rare - while doing the research for my book I was able to locate 1 published example of a radiate of Tacitus (in private collection of Dr.Hill). I've never encountered one in person until now, nor have I seen one for sale.
