Persian inscriptions on both sides. Dated to regnal year 38 = 1695/1696 AD. 24mm in diameter, 11.34 grams. excellent coin, very attractive, thick and heavy. Surat mint. Krause-300.

Rare, with an additional mark depicting a necklace on reverse (visible at 9 o'clock on the reverse).

Aurangzeb was the son of Shah Jahan. In a coup against his father his imprisoned Shah Jahan in the famous Taj Mahal.
