Arabic inscriptions on both sides in Abbasid style. 26mm, 3.6 grams. Dated to 399 AH (=1008 AD), mint of Suk al-Ahwaz. Album 1573A; MWOI 613ff.
Pale gold coin, about 10 to 12 karat gold.
Buwyahids were an indiginous Persian clan living in Western Iran. They carved themselves a large Kingdom when the power of the Abbasids began to decline.
